Wait List
The Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority Housing Choice Voucher Program/HCVP (Section 8) Office, will be accepting online applications starting Monday April 8, 2024 at 9:00am until Monday April 15, 2024 at 4:00pm
Applications must be submitted online and will be available 24 hours a day until Monday April 15, 2024 at 4:00pm. You cannot download an application. There are NO Paper Applications.
Applicants may use any computer, tablet, or smart phone with internet access to apply.
You can access free Wi-Fi from the parking lots at the library.
To complete the online application, you will need the following information:
- The full name of each family member as it appears on his or her social security card. This is needed to help determine the voucher size.
- Each household member’s social security number and birthdate
- Gross yearly income for all members of the household (income before any deductions)
- Current mailing address or P.O. Box (This is how you will be contacted when your application reaches the top of the Wait List)
- A valid email address is required to receive confirmation that your application has been placed on the Wait List. ZMHA will send confirmation emails no later than May 31, 2024
The ZMHA Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) helps very low-income households with rent payments. The gross income for the applicant household must not exceed the Muskingum County annual gross income limits (see below):

Frequently Asked Questions
All changes MUST be reported to the ZMHA office by completing an “Update Form” available online at www.zanesvillehousing.org or at the front desk at 407 Pershing Road Zanesville, Ohio. DO NOT PHONE OUR OFFICE WITH CHANGES.
Please note- if you have had an address change that you have not reported to our office using an “Update Form” your briefing letter may not be delivered. If you fail to attend your briefing, your application will be cancelled, and you will have to reapply when the waiting list opens again.
Once the application is accepted by the Housing Choice Voucher Program/HCVP (Section 8) your application will be placed on the Wait List. Your wait is dependent upon funding.
You will be mailed a letter stating that you have reached the top of the Wait List. The letter will contain instructions on what you will be required to submit at that time.
No. Your eligibility will be determined at your briefing after all income and asset information has been reviewed.
The voucher is for rental units in Muskingum County.
No, the Wait List will close on Monday April 15, 2024 at 4:00PM. You may apply once the Wait List opens in the future.
It is impossible to determine the expected time for the Wait List to open due to the high volume of applications expected.
